ABOUT US

Bridge of HOPE Montgomery (BoHM) is a faith-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation founded in July 2006, in Montgomery, Alabama.

Our mission is:

To assist formerly incarcerated men and women returning to society through cooperative efforts with other individuals and entities.

Our vision is:

Encouraging a Better Way of Life

Our objectives are:

  • To be a catalyst for connecting ex-offenders with the support they need. Positioning them to be a success with God, self, family, and their community for the purpose of being more productive and a contributor to the well-being of all.
  • To foster an environment that will allow and encourage ex-offenders to use their God given gifts and strengths to help other individuals.

Meet the Board

As strong believers in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, each of us trust the Word of God when it says, “For though walking about in flesh, we do not war according to flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, pulling down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, …” (2Co 10:3-5 MKJV) So, we joined together to form this Board of Directors. God has provided the knowledge and experiences within this group to initiate the process of helping our local community of ex-offenders. God has provided within this small Board the following skills, gifts, experiences, and knowledge base: accounting, management, computerization, legal counseling, quality improvement experience, clinical psychology, clergy, and much more!

Great efforts have been put forth by the Board to address a broad spectrum of issues. Issues which sometime give the impression to ex-offenders that they are in a war for survival. We desire to help with that fight or flight response by being a referral source for other entities and individuals with a similar passion as our, for the ex-offenders. We want to encourage them to believe what is written in God’s Word. “For by wise counsel you can wage your war, and in an abundance of counselors there is victory and safety.” (Pro 24:6 AMPC)

OUR CORE BELIEF: BoHM believes — through God all things are possible, and with cooperative efforts with other entities all individuals who desire victory can have it. Bridge of Hope, as the name implies, will function mostly as a bridge over the service gaps that are beyond the scope of services of present organizations. The goal is not to duplicate but to enhance the services that are currently being offered in the following Alabama counties: Montgomery, Crenshaw, Pike, Bullock, Macon, Elmore, Autauga, and Lowndes.
