For men serving sentences for non-violent or non-sexual offenses, the lack of a willing support network is the main obstacle to beginning a successful, productive transition back into society. Renascence exists to help provide a structure to meet that need.

There are on average 50 men per night that reside at the shelter and over 100 people per day are fed two meals per day. It is the goal of Friendship Mission to assist all of our men, women and children with the tools necessary to not find themselves in this situation again once they leave the mission. Friendship Mission has partnered with the VA to assist homeless veterans.

Transitional Living Program houses men for 3 months to 2 yrs. Faith Care Home for Men is located at 529 Sayre Street. The home houses 40 men in need of temporary and long term shelter. During the Transitional Living Phase, men continue to reside at the Mission while they work to obtain permanent employment, save needed start-up funds, seek affordable housing, and continue educational and vocational development.

This faith-based residential program assists individuals in recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and the life-controlling problems associated with it. Through our adult work-study program, residents have the opportunity to develop a strong work ethic while learning new skills and the importance of teamwork and a good attitude.

The GENESIS House is a transitional home that provides women who have just left prison with an independent living environment for at least 12 months. The goal of the center is to help women restore dignity back into their lives, learn skills that will allow them to function well and become healthy productive members of community by overcoming addictions, setting goals and becoming self-sufficient.

Our objectives are to provide housing to women seeking safe shelter to recover from substance abuse and for these women to become productive members of society. We provide a spirit filled, homelike environment where women in recovery can share their experience with others. We accept applications from women of all walks of life. Dedication to recovery and commitment to a drug free life are prerequisites.

Friendship is striving to ensure that this facility is not considered a hand out program but a hand up facility to assist the women with repairing past mistakes to insure independent living within a year. Friendship has partnered with multiple agencies to insure this success. At this time there are women attending GED classes, college courses and working part time to better themselves and their families. There are others attending intense substance abuse counseling to assist them with their addictions.

Vision of Grace Transition Home 501 (c) (3) is a nonprofit program modeled after the Interfaith Hospitality Network for the Homeless. We assist mostly working homeless families by providing them with shelter and full support in one of our single family homes as they transition through their time of difficulty. Since 2008 we have helped to reposition those in need of a temporary hand. Families are housed and all the utilities paid for a period of 3-4 months allowing them to save.
